IELTS Exam Preparation

IELTS Exam Preparation – Academic (IELTS)

Entry Requirements
You do not need previous language qualifications to join any of these classes but need to possess an Intermediate or above level of English language ability.

Course structure/objectives
IELTS is required by overseas students for entry to UK universities. It tests the complete range of
English language skills. The course provides exam preparation for the four papers: listening, academic reading, academic writing and speaking. You will study a range of revision and examination techniques and cover areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

You will be given a placement test that will check your current English language ability.

You will be assessed through regular progress and mock tests, set weekly and monthly. You will also receive regular homework, assignments and project and presentation tasks.

At the end of the course students will receive a certificate of achievement.

Depending on the course of study that students plan to take, students must elect to sit either the
Academic IELTS test or the General Training IELTS test. This choice must be made when applying to sit the test. The IELTS tests are conducted at various test centres around the UK.
